Huntington Laser offers advanced Class IV laser therapy
utilizing our in house K-Laser technology. K-Laser therapy lasers
are clinically proven to treat a wide range of conditions. Laser therapy, or "photobiomodulation", is the use of specific wavelengths of
light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These
effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased
circulation and decreased
swelling. Laser therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical
therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970s. Now, after FDA
clearance in 2002, Laser therapy is being used extensively in the United States.
Our K-Laser technology differs from other available
laser units in terms of wavelength, power and pulse modulation. These
parameters allow our trained specialists to determine penetration depth
and dose distribution for each treatment session. We can estimate
treatment time and biological effect allowing our therapy sessions to
make a difference to every patient’s condition.
Please review the video below which explains the origins and benefits of Laser therapy.
The
Yankees like other professional sports teams invest tens of
millions of dollars in their star athletes and cannot afford to have
their players on the sidelines with injury. Trainers and medical
teams
work with injured players to get them back on the field as soon as
possible. K-Laser therapy (which is now offered by Huntington
Laser) plays a prominent role in helping athletes
recover more quickly from acute and chronic sporting injuries.

K-Laser therapy and how the Yankees use it to treat their stars'
sporting injuries.
During
each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing
water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an
optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle
spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal,
function is restored and pain is relieved.
During Laser therapy,
infrared laser light penetrates deep into tissue and accelerates
metabolic activity within the cell, improving the transport
of nutrients across the cell membrane. This initiates the production of
cellular energy (ATP) that leads to a cascade of beneficial effects,
increasing cellular function and health.
Clinical studies have shown that laser therapy provides
relief from pain, and improves healing in a wide variety of conditions.

Huntington Laser therapy. A list of frequently asked
questions (FAQ’s) regarding our laser therapy can be found below:
Does it hurt? What does a treatment feel
like?
There
is little or no sensation during treatment. Often one feels
mild, soothing warmth or tingling. Many patients feel a significant
reduction in pain after the first visit
Are there any side effects or associated
risks?
No. In rare instances pain syndromes may feel aggravated for a day, as
the healing response is more active after treatment
How long does each treatment take?
The typical treatment is 3 to 9
minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated
How often should a patient be treated?
Acute
conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied
by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when
treatments are received 2 to 3 times a week, tapering to once a week or
once every other week, with improvement
How many treatments does it take?
This
depends on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute
conditions 1 to 6 treatments may be sufficient. Those of a more chronic
nature may require 10 treatments. Conditions such as
severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain
How long before the results are felt?
You
may feel improvements in your condition (usually pain reduction) after
the very first treatment. Sometimes you will not feel improvement for a
number of treatments. This does not mean that the condition is not
improving. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt
after 3 or 4 sessions
Can it be used in conjunction with other
forms of treatment?
Yes!
Laser therapy can be used with other forms of treatment, including
physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massage, soft tissue
mobilization, electrotherapy and even following surgery. Other healing
modalities are complementary and can be used with laser to increase the
effectiveness of the treatment
How should I dress for a K-Laser
treatment?
Your
K-Laser treatment must be delivered directly to your skin. Wear
clothing that will allow access to the area, shorts, sweat
pants, sports bra or similar items are suggested.
Alternatively, your doctor
will have you change into a patient gown if the area needing K-Laser
treatment is not readily accessible
How will I feel after the treatment?
You
may feel pain relief after just the first treatment. For other
patients, it takes a while longer. Most patients report feeling very
relaxed. If you feel less pain, keep in mind that pain
reduction is just one goal. The K-Laser is giving your body cells more
energy so they repair and regenerate new tissues. The effect of K-Laser
therapy treatments is cumulative. You will be getting more benefit with
successive treatments
Has effectiveness been demonstrated
scientifically?
Yes.
There are thousands of published studies demonstrating the clinical
effectiveness of laser therapy. Among them, there are more than one
hundred rigorously controlled, scientific studies that document the
effectiveness of laser therapy for many clinical conditions
How much does it cost?
A laser therapy session will cost $60
Is K-Laser covered by insurance?
No. Laser therapy is such a new technology that is is not currently covered by insurance companies
